Introduction to External Program Interfaces

This chapter introduces the OpenEdge external program interfaces (EPIs). These consist of 4GL statements and supporting software that enable a Progress 4GL application to exchange data and services with external non-Progress applications. To use these interfaces, you must be proficient in the programming tools, applications, and environments you want to access from Progress.
